{Heading 1}Why Use TextPak?{Body Text}The Apple Media Kit has many advanced media-handling capabilites such as its excellent QuickTime support. But it has been widely criticised for its limited text-handling facilities.
{Body Text}We set out to address these issues with a commercial-strength cross-platform text handling package. The result is {Emphasise}TextPak{Body Text} a package designed to provide comprehensive text formatting facilities for interactive multimedia titles. TextPak can display text using a customised anti-aliasing engine to produce high quality on-screen text.
{Body Text}TextPak also formats text on the fly: you specify the bounding box in which it is to work and the system handles the rest. The text to fill the box can be passed in the DisplayText() message or can be read from a file. Formatting commands can be embedded into the text, which tell TextPak how the text is to appear.
{Body Text}TextPak also includes facilities to handle lists and hyperlinks, and can render text over other screen objects semi-opaquely.
